...this guy was king.
Sophie Merven isn't afraid to say what we're all thinking:
"My dad was (apparently) uber hot when he was young. My mom found him on a random tropical Mauritian beach wearing nothing but a pink sarong as a skirt. Seriously. She said she fell in love with his blond locks then and there. In this photo he is sailing his small boat in his natal island of Mauritius. In the 80s and 90s everyone at my school thought he was McGyver, but here he is clearly the dude from the '80s version of The Blue Lagoon," says Sophie.
Counterintuitive fact: A man who's not afraid to wear a skirt or a pair of panties as a swimsuit is a real man.

Bertie Bowen sent this picture of her mom to MMSTI and but I think her dad deserved a post in his own right. "The Jimi Hendrix look-a-like is my Pa, Glen Bowen. I love my parent's matching high-waisted jeans." Glen cultivated his look in the 70's at boutiques in his native London. But this photo practically explodes with the electric guitar version of the Star-Spangled Banner.

As an 18 year old Edi prepared to serve his country in 1970, he wanted to make one thing clear: this lovely lady belonged to him. Daughter Monica says: "My mother Gianna travelled to reach my father in the opposite side of Italy to stay with him only few hours because he was employed in Navy national army and she missed him very much."
Introducing the "husband" site to MY MOM THE STYLE ICON.
Why not just call it "my dad the style icon" you ask? Because dads aren't known for putting together an outfit. Lest we forget, these are folks who bought into butterfly collars, golf pants and gold chains. Know why? Because they didn't give a fuck. And that, my friends, is what this blog is about. Dads may not have fashion savvy, but they make up for it in balls. Brass ones.
The following are photos designed to prove one thing: dad was a badass. And don't you forget it.
*Above photo submitted by Franciska Svenson who writes:
"This is my my father Alfred with a guy with a gun. He is half Columbian and moved to Sweden in the 50's. I have no idea of who the guy with the gun is, he seems cool though."
